Build 0.15.189
Released: 11th Nov,2024
Known Issues
- Attributes now apply their intended modifiers. (Bugged - still using old values)
- Many quest NPCs will not respond to the player to offer their quest or will not accept turn-ins.
- Martial Cloth armor (for monks) does not currently have its intended visuals and will look the same as other cloth armor.
- NPCs and crafting stations in newly decorated buildings may overlap with other furniture and props.
- Crafted bags do not currently have a weight of their own (they are intended to have a weight value).
General
- Ogres and Dwarves can now be created in character creation. And there was much rejoicing!
- Added a first pass at basic character customization to character creation. More is planned for later.
- Updated elf female hair models.
- Various animations got updated.
- Added a message to /consider for chevron (group) mobs. More work will be done on /con for chevron mobs in the future to better represent the difficulty in con color and message, this is just a quick add to give newbies a little heads up.
- Added /gu as an alias for the guild chat channel (/guild and /gs also work).
- Changed the name of the "Performance" setting to "Render Quality" to clarify that setting it to "High" gives a better render quality but lower performance/fps than Medium or Low. Low gives the lowest quality but highest FPS.
- Chainmail armor items should now be displayed properly when equipped.
- Added a new tutorial popup for when a player considers a group mob for the first time.
- Added a message to let players know that only the guild leader is allowed to disband the guild, instead of prompting any guild member that tries the command and then letting them know they can't do that.
- Added an error message to /guilddisband if it is used by a player who isn't in a guild.
- NPC task queue fixed. Mobs will no longer chase a player until they land an attack before switching targets.
- Pet combat formulas have been reworked to function more like players. This hasn't had a balance pass; please give feedback if anything unexpected occurs.
- Bonus critical hit damage no longer bypasses mitigation.
- Dual wield weapon delays work independently.
- Off-hand weapon damage has a 50% damage penalty (before modifiers).
- Traits removed from class vendors.
- Lull effects were reduced to compensate for an adjustment to indoor dungeon assist radius.
- NPC damage has been reworked. Please provide feedback on how this feels (specify class, level, group/solo, ability or auto damage). Previously, minimum damage was set very low, but every attack had a large RNG component of bonus damage applied to auto attacks and abilities. Overall damage output is expected to be higher but more predictable. For group content, you may want to bring at least one person who can slow.
- Many NPC abilities were adjusted to consider the new damage pacing. Please report any NPC auto attacks or abilities that are acting differently (unusually high/low damage).
- Traits for NPCs should be more common across the world. Some scaling on the existing traits has been adjusted.
- Formulas for attack and move speed were reworked to function more appropriately when stacked.
- Bonus experience for group NPCs has been adjusted based on location and overall difficulty level of the environment. Group NPCs in the Thronefast Spider Cave, Spirit Manor, and Gadai Fortress will have a reduced bonus compared to NPCs in the Goblin Caves, Mad Run, Hanggore, and Halnir Cave.
World
- Skitterfang spiders now recognize threats to their brood even if they are not being directly attacked and will respond accordingly.
Balance
All the combat changes up to this point have been to get our balance dials set up and functioning properly while keeping the game in a playable state. With this patch, most of those dials are now enabled and things are set at a baseline. Feedback on combat (solo/group) after these changes is incredibly valuable as we are in a place to act on them. We do still have a few more major changes coming, such as an itemization pass. Hop in and play, and give us feedback; lots of knobs to adjust over the next few weeks!
